About Angel Emporium
Angel Emporium was founded in 2024 with a simple ambition: to create a destination where creativity, craftsmanship, and community come together under one roof.
Alongside curated vintage pieces, books, homeware, and artwork, the studio develops original own-label collections inspired by slower, more analogue ways of living. These designs combine paper, textiles, vintage materials, and thoughtful rituals that encourage people to pause, create, and reflect.
Every vintage piece is individually sourced, while independent artists and makers are selected because their work naturally belongs within the wider collection. The result is a space that feels cohesive and highly curated, rather than simply filled with products.
Visitors often arrive looking for a gift and stay far longer than expected. Some visit for workshops, while others simply enjoy spending time in an unhurried environment.
As modern shopping habits evolve, Angel Emporium proves that independent retail thrives by prioritising originality, craftsmanship and genuine human connection.
Throughout the year, the Emporium also hosts a changing programme of workshops, author talks, antiques and collectables valuation days and creative demonstrations - bringing together artists, makers, specialists, and visitors through shared interests.
About the Founder
Angel Emporium was founded by award-winning artist and author Melissa Walpole.
Following a successful career in the creative arts, Melissa launched the Emporium to build the kind of space she had always hoped to find: somewhere creativity happens naturally, beautiful objects are thoughtfully gathered, and visitors feel welcome to linger.
Alongside designing and developing the growing own-label collections, Melissa handpicks the studio's vintage finds and champions a select group of independent makers whose work reflects the unique character of the Emporium.
Supporting Independent Creativity
Supporting independent creativity is an important part of Angel Emporium.
Alongside its own studio pieces, the shop works with a select group of independent artists and makers. The goal isn't to carry as many lines as possible, but to choose work that complements the wider collection. Everything is selected because it fits naturally into the world the Emporium is creating, ensuring the space feels thoughtful and connected.
For many visitors, it becomes a place to discover independent makers and craftspeople they might not have come across elsewhere.
